The Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater (Acanthagenys rufogularis) is a common species seen across the arid and semi-arid parts of Australia. A great place to observe the species is at water sources, from waterholes to bird baths in your own garden.

Whilst they are known to be territorial, they can often be seen sharing water with other bird species. The following were taken at the Olive Pink Botanic Garden in Alice Springs, NT.
