Dotterels Lapwings Plovers | Oriental Plover > water |

Grouped with wading birds, the Oriental Plover (Charadrius veredus) migratory habits see them usually arrive in Australian from early September through to November, returning overseas to breed around March to April. They prefer the open, sparse grassland areas of northern Australia, from Western Australia, across Northern Territory, to the Queensland Gulf of Carpentaria. During the wet, they are know to disperse into the interior of Australia.
