War Memorials - Australia

Australian Commonwealth Military Forces
Australian Commonwealth Military Forces

There are war memorials located throughout Australia. Some are grand large places, whilst others are small dedications, but all are monuments to our fallen heroes. Many travellers include a visit to these sites as part of their holiday, so where possible we have provided information and links to them.

If you would like to add another location, please send us an email with the details about the site, including the address and where possible a photo (please indicate, if you want your name included with the photo).

Their Service, Our HeritageAnzac Day
commemorates the Australian and New Zealand armed forces at Gallipoli in 1915.

Australia Day
a national public holiday, celebrating the arrival of the First Fleet.

Remembrance Day
commemorates those who served and died during the 1st World War.

World War I Service Records Online - A Gift to the Nation
The National Archives of Australia, in a three-year preservation project, have digitised over 376,000 service records of men and women who served with the Australian Army in World War I.  As a gift to the nation, these World War I service records are all available online.
