Valley of the Giants
• c/o CALM, WALPOLE WA 6398 • Ph: 08 9840 8263 • Fax: 08 9840 8132 • Email
• Part of the Walpole-Nornalup National Park, this popular destination gets its name from the large red tingle trees that grown there. It is the eastern-most occurrence of this type of forest, and only found within 15 km of Walpole. There is a boardwalk through a grove of veteran tingle trees known as the ‘Ancient Empire’, containing the ‘Giant’ from which the forest is named. Some of the trees have a circumference of 16 metres at the base. The ‘Ancient Empire’ boardwalk starts from the Tingle Shelter, the visitor interpretation centre.
Walpole and Nornalup Inlets
• Walpole is situated on the shallow Walpole Inlet which has a depth of no more than 1 metre, and is fed by the Walpole River. The spot offers good fishing opportunities from both the Town Jetty and Swarbrick Jetty, which is also a great spot to watch the sunsets.

The Nornalup Inlet is both deeper (up to 5 metres) and larger. This inlet is fed by the Frankland River and the Deep River and is connected to the Walpole Inlet by a one kilometre long channel. This inlet is permanently open to the sea that, combined with the rivers, creates a rich and diverse marine habitat. The Nornalup Inlet provides a great place for a range of activities that include fishing, boating, sailing, and swimming.
