Dwellingup - Cities, Towns and Localities
Located about 106 km south of Perth CBD, Dwellingup provides a close getaway for many city dwellers in Perth. A small milling town, Dwellingup is nestled among the jarrah forests of the Darling Escarpment and flanked by the Murray River.

Dwellingup is a popular camping destination, with the area offering plenty to do from canoeing, fishing, cycling and walking trails. The 55,000 hectare Lane Pool Reserve, between Dwellingup and Collie, attracts thousands of visitors annually. Many enjoy pitching their tents in the jarrah forest by the Murray River, or enjoying the small waterfalls, deep still pools and rapids along the river course. In winter and during periods of high rainfall, the river change from the placid waters into a raging torrent.

Dwellingup Attractions

Bibbulmun Track
• This famous track passes through Pemberton, being a popular walking track for both recreational and long distance walkers. The track starts in the hills suburb of Kalamunda, 20 km east of Perth in the Darling Range and ends at Albany, some 1,000 km.
Lane-Poole Reserve
• Lane Poole Reserve was declared in 1984, to protect the conservation and recreation values of the northern jarrah forest and the Murray River. The Reserve covers nearly 55,000 hectares, ranging from the steeply forested valley slopes and rock-rimmed pools of the Murray River near the Darling Scarp to the more open, undulating jarrah and wandoo woodlands further east. Tall blackbutt, jarrah and marri forest shades the river valley, and on either side of the river gravel roads lead to recreation areas for the thousands of visitors that flock there annually.

There is a range of activities from camping, swimming, canoeing, rafting, fishing, bushwalking, observing the flora and fauna and picnicking.
