Located at the southern end of the Mornington Peninsula, between Blairgowrie
and Portsea, Sorrento inner shoreline faces into Port Phillip Bay, whilst the
outer coastline faces out to the Bass Strait.

Beach that looks out across the bay provides an ideal place to relax, have a
picnic, take a swim, or just keep a watch out for the wild bottlenose dolphins
that frolic in the bay.
The Bass Strait side of the peninsula includes craggy promontories, as well
as sheltered bays and sandy beaches. This side allows for some surfing action,
which can be had at Sorrento Ocean Beach, St Pauls Beach and Diamond Bay.
