Want to see what is happening where you are going? Maybe you want to include a destination in your plans, some stopover to coincide with events happening in that town?

Following are some events happening in Victoria. For more information, check the destination pages of the town or area you are visiting.

Some events happen at the same throughout Australia, such as Christmas and New Years Eve celebrations, ANZAC Day, Australia Day, local markets, agricultural shows etc. Some scheduled events only have approximate dates, with some dates changing or being cancelled.

Australia Wide Events - Victoria

• 26th January
• A day when we come together to celebrate Australia and being Australian. Celebrations are nation wide.

Details can be found on the government Australia Day site.

  ANZAC Day
• 25th April
• This day of remembrance marks the deaths and sufferings of brave men and women, who lost their lives in the fight to bring peace and harmony to the world.

It commemorates the landing at Gallipoli in 1915 (during World War I), which saw men from two countries, Australia and New Zealand, come together and fight as one, the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.

The massive loss of life, was deeply felt, and today it is a day we mark as
‘ANZAC Day: Lest We Forget’.

  Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve
• 24-31 December
• Capital cities throughout Australia and many of the major cities often put on special events such as Carol by Candlelight and New Years Eve firework display. Details can often be found on the local council sites.

• There is usually something happening every weekend. The calendar highlights include the Shell Australian V8 Touring Championship, Australian Super Truck Racing Championship, and the Australian Historic Motorfest.

Cardinia Cardinia Ranges Farmers’ Market
• 2nd Saturday of the month
• Described as one of the best markets in the region, with the stalls offering fresh vegetables, cheese, venison, beef, free range pork and free range eggs.

Foster Foster Showgrounds Craft Markets
• Held monthly

Heathcote Heathcote Bush Market • Lions Club
• First Saturday of the month
• Popular monthly markets held in the centre of town.

Koonwarra Koonwarra Farmers Market
• Held on the first Saturday of each month
• Visit our popular market showcasing produce from the local area.

Mildura Sunraysia Farmers Market
• First and third Saturday of the month - 9am to 1 pm
• A farmers market is held in the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens, exhibiting the finest local produce.
Mildura Sunday Langtree Mall Market
• Fourth Sunday each month - 9am to 1 pm
• Held in the city centre, general market selling produce, jams and pickles, craft, clothing etc.

Mount Beauty Mount Beauty Bush Market
• First Saturday of each month
• Community market. There are often additional markets in association with special events.

Nagambie Nagambie Community Market
• Blaney Reserve - on the lakes • Ph: 03 5794 1691
• 1st Saturday of every month - 8:30 am to 1:00 pm
• With fantastic views across the lake, a great community market to come and have a yarn with the locals and support the local community. There are children activities, live music, fresh produce, plants, cakes, and a variety of other stalls.

St Andrews St Andrews Community Market
• Every Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm
• Known as Melbourne's most unique market, the St Andrews Community Market has a special atmosphere, where the sights, smell, touch and taste surrounds and envelopes you. Here you can see a range of exciting foods and drinks, a range of hand made items, fresh produce, gifts, clothing, health and well being services and pamper items.

• Local market held at the old racecourse in Forest Street.
