Beechworth - Cities, Towns and Localities
Located in the foothills of the Australian Alps and surrounded by lush valleys and spectacular scenery, Beechworth is one of Victoria’s best-preserved gold rush towns, with more than 30 buildings listed by the National Trust. Included in its remarkable architectural heritage is the jail where bushranger Ned Kelly was imprisoned.

With its history and culture, and close proximity to the Australia Alps, Beechworth makes an ideal place to stay for a week, with plenty to explore, or just to relax. As well as the history, there are plenty of natural attractions, Beechworth being surrounded by acres of National and State Forest, that include Beechworth Historic Park, Stanley State Forest and Chiltern Mt Pilot National Park.

It is also a great place to make your base, offering a range of accommodation style from bed and breakfast, camping and caravan, guesthouse, motel, self-contained and others.
