The Great Western Tiers mountain range dominates the skyline of the Meander Valley, providing a dramatic backdrop to extensive forests and rural landscape. With historic towns and villages, the region retains the feel of the early European settlements.

This unique Tasmanian destination retains the spiritual essence that draws visitors from afar, imbued as it is with spectacular natural scenic backdrop. Here, visitors can explore ‘Kooparoona Niara’, which was the Aboriginal name for the region.

Only a 30 minute drive to the passenger port in Devonport from Meander Valley, the Great Western Tiers is perfectly positioned at the centre of Northern Tasmania, which also makes it the ideal base from which to also explore further a field, with easy access to the east coastline and beaches, the world famous Cradle Mountains, and the rugged wilderness of the west coast.
