Tasmanian Copper & Metal Art Gallery
• 8 Church St, CARRICK TAS 7291 • Ph: 03 6393 6440 • Email
• See website for opening hours
• The Tasmanian Copper & Metal Art Gallery has been in operation for over thirty years, supplying unique styles in metals worldwide. The workshop and showroom is situated at Carrick with the product handmade on the premises. Each item is free-cut from a variety of metals such as copper, brass, steel and chrome using a variety of tools such as an oxy acetylene torch, plasma and laser cutter. Each piece is hand beaten and shaped, polished and then coloured using special paint which is baked onto the surface. The whole product is then coated with a clear finish for protection, producing a very colourful and decorative wall hanging. The works are intended for interior use.

Carrick Events

• Tasmania Events
• Quercus Rural Youth Park, Oaks Rd, CARRICK TAS 7291 • Ph: 1300 AGFEST / 1300 243 378 • Email
• Held on the first Thursday, Friday and Saturday in May
• One of Tasmania's premier events, the Agfest Field Days is a three day event organised by the Rural Youth Organisation of Tasmania.

The first event in 1983 was a success when Rural Youth Organisation of Tasmania Inc needed to raise money following government budget cuts in the early 80's. Following on from the success of the first event, Agfest continues to grow, and today is considered on of the major events (certainly the most significant agricultural and regional event) on the Tasmanian calendar.

Agfest is an important part of Rural Youth, not only for funding, but members are given responsibilities and gain experience in everything from marketing to traffic management. Members are encouraged to pursue their interests and develop their talents. There is an informal mentor program that works very well and ensures members have the support they need to take on new positions and challenges. Members use the skills developed to enhance their career prospects and to assist in their local communities. For more information visit the Agfest website
