Stone Hut also had a number of blacksmiths, who
were constantly in demand, and the Old Bakery is the site of one of them. There
is the Soldiers Memorial Hall, erected in 1926 as a memorial to the solders of
the First World War.
In later years with the advent of the railway, Stone Hut
became a major area for grain transhipment. Today, the population of Stone Hut
is about 26. When passing through, stop over for some great food and hospitality
at Wheatleys Old Bakery.
