Located at the foot of Mount Remarkable and just east of the Mount Remarkable
National Park is the town of Melrose, the oldest town in the Flinders Ranges.
Melrose is a popular
place to base yourself when visiting the nearby national park, with bush
walking and cycling popular activities in the region. The town is also a great
first and last stop for those planning to visit Lake Eyre.
There is a heritage centre with displays on the towns history, a heritage
walk and other walking trails.
