Mon Repos Conservation Park - Cities, Towns and Localities
Not far from Bundaberg is the small but hugely important Mon Repos Conservation Park a 45 ha park protecting the largest sea turtle hatchery on the east coast.

Here you will find the magnificent loggerhead, green, and flatback turtles. The Mon Repos beach 1.5 km long with a gentle slope is perfect for the turtles, all turtle viewing is monitored by the National Parks and Wildlife Service to help minimise the disruption to the nesting turtles.

Nesting season is from December through to February. The hatchlings start appearing approximately 6-8 weeks after the eggs have been laid.

A visitor centre selling souvenirs and providing information and viewing services is available at the beach. Educational visits can also be arranged here.

Contact the local Parks and Wildlife Service or visit the QLD National parks, marine parks and forests website. In addition to our listed online travel guide information, contact the local tourism visitor centre for your destination for more attractions, tours, local maps and other information.
