Fraser Coast / South Burnett Region Attractions

Bunya Mountains
• Do a drive tour of the Bunya Mountains and some bush walking.
Coral viewing
• Take advantage of the many diving, snorkelling and eco tours available.
• Ideal fishing location.
Fraser Island
• World Heritage listed region that includes rainforests, pristine lakes and wildlife, on the largest sand island in the world.
Great Barrier Reef
There are all sorts of tours available, including air tours.
• Check out some of the heritage architecture as found in Maryborough.
Water sports
• There are a variety of water sports from water skiing, parasailing, boating and much more. You can also see the island by hiring a four wheel drive vehicle yourself and seeing this
natural wonder at you own pace.
Whale Watching
• From late July to early November, Hervey Bay offer some of the best Humpback Whale Watching experience. Having given birth and mated in the warm waters of the Great Barrier Reef, the whales then head back in their southern migration to Antarctica. Other species seen in the area include the Southern Right Whales and Longfin Pilot Whales. Dolphins are seen all year round in Hervey Bay.
South Burnett Wine
• The South Burnett wine region is Queensland's largest wine region, with wineries that have already won strings of awards at both the state and national shows. The site provides information about all the wineries, cellar doors and vineyards, that also include their opening hours, area under vine, grape varieties grown, types of wines produced, and particular features to look out for.

Information includes up-coming winery events. The site has printable maps of the South Burnett Wine Trail and the two sub-trails that make it up (the northern area around Moffatdale and the southern area around Nanango and Kingaroy).
