Sometimes mistaken for the Brown Goshawk, one of the
difference in features are the Collared Sparrowhawk has staring yellow eyes,
that look fierce, but without the heavy brow ridge of the goshawk, which gives
the goshawk a 'glowering look'.
When in flight, the Collared Sparrowhawk the tip of the spread tail is square,
unlike that of the goshawk which has a more rounded tail tip.
The Collared Sparrowhawk is found almost everywhere in Australia, inhabiting
forest and woodland, including the narrow tree lines allong watercourses of the
arid interior and coastal forest.
