Located just over 26 km south of the Sydney CBD, in the Sutherland Shire,
Cronulla is a popular seaside suburb located on a peninsula with Port Hacking on
the south and Botany Bay to the north. Some of the beaches include Cronulla
Beach, North Cronulla Beach, Wanda Beach, Elouera Beach, Blackwoods Beach and
The major beaches are patrolled throughout the year by council
lifeguards and during the summer in conjunction with volunteers from the local
Surf Life Saving Clubs.
Cronulla is also a well known spot for surfing and bodyboarding, being the
location for the annual ‘Cronulla Shark Island Challenge’ bodyboarding contest.
