Located midway between the mountains and the south coast, Bombala
is the largest town in the eastern Monaro region. It is an old town
with interesting buildings, of which the most notably is the Masonic
Hall and Library Institute on Caveat Street, the Court House, and
some of the homesteads in the area. Bombala is also the heart of
Platypus Country, that can be spotted throughout the region in the
